Some other linear models based on Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) have been proposed in6,17 which exhibit an effective performance in time series domain. Several works have leveraged Graph Neural Networks (GNN) for time series forecasting, specifically for traffic forecasting. For example, MTGNN18 utilizes temporal and graph convolutional layers to capture temporal and spatial (cross-channel) dependencies. An attention based spatial-temporal graph neural network is proposed in Ref.19 which captures the temporal dynamics of traffic series by using the local context. In Ref.20, a feature correlation-aware spatio-temporal graph convolutional network is designated for traffic prediction, which captures multi-scale spatial and temporal relations effectively, considering cross-scales dependencies. Dynamic graph structure learning for multivariate time series forecasting21 exploits graph learning networks to capture hidden dependencies between variables, enhancing the accuracy of forecasting by effectively capturing complex interrelationships within the data.

Biomedical Multi-scale analysis applications, where biology is coupled to fluid mechanics, are an illustration of a multi-scale, multi-science problem. For instance, in the problem of in-stent restenosis 1–4, blood flow, modelled as a purely physical process, is coupled to the growth of smooth muscle cells (SMCs). Haemodynamics is a fast varying process, acting over spatial scales ranging from micrometres to centimetres. On the other hand, SMCs evolve at a much slower time scale of days to weeks. We review a methodology to design, implement and execute multi-scale and multi-science numerical simulations. We identify important ingredients of multi-scale modelling and give a precise definition of them.
Analytically Modeled Microstructures
It can provide more straightforward visualization to generate insight by revealing the contrast of the repeat and rearrangement variations among the haplotypes. Such pangenome-level graph decomposition provides utilities similar to the A-de Bruijn graph approach for identifying repeats and conserved segmental duplications42,43,44,45, but for the whole human pangenome collection at once. The fourth challenge is to robustly predict system dynamics to identify causality. Indeed, this is the actual driving force behind integrating machine learning and multiscale modeling for biological, biomedical, and behavioral systems.
Identify the principal bundles in a MAP-graph
This coupling of data and partial differential equations into a deep neural network presents itself as an approach to impose physics as a constraint on the expressive power of the latter. Multiscale modeling is a critical step, since biological systems typically possess a hierarchy of structure, mechanical properties, and function across the spatial and temporal scales. Time series forecasting involves predicting future values of one or multiple series based on the historical information. Time series forecasting methods are mainly categorized into classical and deep learning models. Among programmer the statistical models, ARIMA12 and methods based on exponential smoothing13 are well-known baselines for time series forecasting.

As evidenced by the table, each of the multi-scale embedding, channel-wise encoder and multi-step decoder modules contribute to performance promotion. For example, in ETTh1 forecasting dataset, multi-scale embedding improves the MSE error rate by approximately 2% in prediction length of 720 and the channel-wise encoder promotes the prediction accuracy (MSE) by 2.5%. Our multi-step decoder, improves the prediction error in most cases, specifically when the forecast horizon is long, e.g. 720.
Build minimizer anchor pangenome graph and principal bundle decomposition
Furthermore, we can generate a local pangenomics (MAP-graph) for comparing the sequences in the pangenome dataset at various scales by adjusting parameters to fit different analysis tasks. For comparison, we generate the AMY1A MAP-graphs at two different scales (Fig. 2) from the HPRC year one assemblies (47 samples). These can be generated with PRG-TK in less than 3 minutes from indexed sequence data.
This is analogous to identifying the contigs51,52 in genome assembly algorithms. 1 illustrates the vertex length distribution for different parameter sets using chromosome 1 of CHM13 assembly. An increase in either w or r results in longer sequences being represented by each vertex, enabling a sparser sampling of the pangenome. The choice of parameters depends on the length of the region of interest and the size of relevant biological features, such as repeat sizes and distances.

In acyclic coupling topologies, each submodel is started once and thus has a single synchronization point, while in cyclic coupling topologies, submodels may get new inputs a number of times, equating to multiple synchronization points. The number of synchronization points may be known in advance (static), in which case they may be scheduled, or the number may depend on the dynamics of the submodels (dynamic), in which case the number of synchronization points will be known only at runtime. Likewise, the number of submodel instances may be known in advance (single or static) or be determined at runtime (dynamic). This last option means a runtime environment will need to instantiate, couple and execute submodels based on runtime information.
